Department of Humanities

The Department of Humanities, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year Sessional Assistant Professor position in Children's Studies to commence July 1, 2015. Applicants must have a PhD in the humanities or a related discipline in children's, childhood, and youth studies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a vigorous research agenda on contemporary children's and/or youth cultures, grounded in current theory, children's rights, and research with children and/or youth. Applicants must demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly research and preference will be given to applicants with evidence of successful teaching at the university level in children's, childhood, and youth studies. The appointment carries a teaching load of three full courses or the equivalent.
